![]() From my understanding, they don't change the games, they simply change ScummVM to make the games work. I'm pretty sure that it was very recently that the ScummVM project have had success in getting the Myst games to work reliably with ScummVM. I'm not sure if your license will allow, but DANG. Please GoG, also consider packaging Myst: Masterpiece Edition with Scummvm for Linux. I don't associate the two at all! As a Linux user, I've been trying for years for Wine to support Myst, and for the past few years if I'd just known to try ScummVM I'd have been all set! Pianomano8: This needs to be highlighted in some way. I can run any of the dvds on Windows 7 Home Premium just fine. Played over the weekend and just beat it tonight. Nonviable: This is the only way I got Myst Masterpiece Edition to work.ĭo all that, and Myst runs fantastic! ) Hopefully someone will find this info helpful. Otherwise, your mouse sensitivity is through the roof and playing is impossible.ĭo all that, and Myst runs fantastic! ) Hopefully someone will find this info helpful. Turns out SDL has a bug in it so you have to run `export SDL_MOUSE_RELATIVE=0` before running ScummVM and then Myst. I fiddled a bit with the graphics settings (OpenGL, PC-9821 (236 Colors), fullscreen mode). ![]() ![]() I added a new game in ScummVM and pointed it to the Myst directory. The only thing I didn't do was delete QuickTime and replace it with an older version, because downgrading is not my cup of tea. I tried every Windows compatibility setting posted around this forum to no avail. I attempted to run it in Windows 7 64-bit but it would lock up roughly 10 minutes into playing every single time. I tested myst 1, and everything seems to work quite fine. Even in windows, using scummvm allows you to skip all the installation procedure and it also gives you new options like playing them on a window. Since myst and riven is unofficially supported by scummvm and that means you can play them on android and other systems like linux, which were not originally supported, I prefer to play them on my tablet with scummvm. I own a physical myst compilation called "Myst trilogy".
